Started working as an expert in field advisory work for 300 farms. Providing advisory service to farmers in the technological field (farming, field and fodder production, plant protection, fertilisation, animal husbandry and gardening). The organisation of the transfer of knowledge into practice and consulting in the field of farm development and conversion. Organisation and assistance in enforcing agricultural policy measures (subventions, payments for less-favoured areas, the introduction of Slovenian Agri-Environmental Programme to farms). Cooperation with the Plant Protection Service in the field of monitoring the appearance and development of plant diseases and pests with an emphasis on potato mould. Introduction and realisation of courses for the users of plant health products. The realisation of the project introducing the “Komenda agricultural produce and products” brand. Introduction of sugar beet production in the Gorenjska region. Organising forms of farmers’ associations such as machinery hire syndicate, cattle breeders association, rural youth association. In December 2002 started working in Chamber of Agriculture and Forestry of Slovenia as a Head of advising in arable Farming, Fodder Production and Gardening. Expert work for agricultural advisors. Heading the expert group of the agricultural advisory service for farming. Heading the expert group of the agricultural advisory service for gardening. Co-creating the Fertilisation Planning computer programme. Cooperating in the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Food expert group preparing and implementing the Integrated Crop Production Programme, cooperation in the making and implementing of other Agri-Environmental Programme measures. Preparation, expert editing and publishing of the Plant Protection Implementation Manual. The realisation of the project “Master Farms, the Partnership between Education and Work”. Following domestic agriculture legislation and formulating legislation proposals. Following EU legislation. After 2006 change the position to Head of Plant Production Department. Expert work for agricultural advisors in plant production. Cooperation in the preparation of legislation on natural disasters in agriculture and cooperation in the National Commission for the Elimination of the Consequences of Natural Disasters.
Cooperation with the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Food in preparing the regulation on agricultural produce protection. Cooperation in the special cases of damage in agriculture, the preparation of the programme to eliminate consequences and the preparation of new legislation (maybug). Following EU legislation and cooperation with the Ministry on preparing the Slovene stands. Cooperation with COPA COGECA, following the publications on their web site, communicating the information in Slovenia and attending meetings in Brussels (the areas of oilseeds, cereals, fruits and vegetables). Cooperation in the implementation of the system of cross-coherence in Slovenia, preparation of an advisory system for cross-compliance, preparation of material for farmers, preparation of training courses for advisors. Cooperation in legislation preparation.
Assisting and substituting the Head of Agricultural Advisory Service. Analysis and planning of the Service’s work. Cooperation with domestic and foreign institutions because of the needs for the development of advisory tools. For some time between 2016 and 2018 also main coordinator in the Agricultural Advisory Service in the field of cross-compliance, organic farming and promotion of agriculture.
For 6 month in 2006 and from May 2014 to August 2016, and after August 2018 heading the Agricultural Advisory Service of Slovenia within the framework of the Chamber of Agriculture and Forestry of Slovenia.
Preparation and coordination of work programmes. Heading project groups. Preparation of measures and standards for programming, implementation and reporting. Cooperation in advisory training programmes and the preparation of a system of electronic completion and submission of applications for agricultural policy measures (payment rights and direct payments, payments of the Slovenian Agri-Environmental Programme and the payments of the Agricultural Environmental Programme). Implementing CECRA regional office and CECRA system for Slovenian advisors. Active role in creation EUFRAS and SEASN network and associations of advisors. Implementing digital ways of communication. Working as Head of Agricultural Advisory Service. Analysis and planning of the Service’s work. Cooperation with domestic and foreign institutions because of the needs for the development of advisory tools. Member of “Subgroup on Innovation” under The EU Rural Networks’.

Advisor and senior innovation specialist who has been involved in agricultural innovation since the beginning of his professional career. Agricultural biotechnologist and manager by profession. He is currently finalizing his PhD thesis about the importance of agricultural advisory services in the implementation of innovation in agriculture and rural areas. Participant of many domestic and foreign trainings (CECRA Module certificate), has an English language certificate. He is constantly improving his qualifications by participating in courses and trainings for innovation advisors and brokers. Since 2016, he has been creating EIP_AGRI Operational Groups for innovation in agriculture and rural areas. Co-founder of several groups and consortia implementing innovative projects. He conducts trainings for farmers, advisors, entrepreneurs and scientists in the field of methodology for creating Operational Groups. As a national innovation broker he is responsible for the implementation and dissemination of Measure 16 “Cooperation” and coordinates work of advisors acting as regional innovation brokers located in the Regional Agricultural Advisory Centers. Participant of the National Thematic Group on Innovation and the Working Team for Measure 16 “Cooperation”. Participant of study visits to many EU countries to exchange knowledge and experience in implementing agricultural innovation, including of the Nordic-Baltic National Rural Networks. Employee of the Agricultural Advisory Center in Brwinów, Warsaw branch office (national support unit of the National Rural Network and coordinating office of Network on Innovation in Agriculture and Rural Areas).

Born in 1974, Pablo Asensio holds a diploma in agricultural engineering and a postgraduate degree in adult education. He is adviser method trainer, teacher, agricultural economist and environmental expert.

He is a member in the international network of agricultural consultants IALB and as such elected member in the EUFRAS board since 2013. From 2007 to 2013 and after again since 8/2019, he has been working mainly as a skills trainer at the State Leadership and Management Academy in Landshut with a focus on professional training for the advisory service.

2013 he worked at the State Ministry for Agriculture in Munich, 2014-2019 at the Government of Lower Bavaria and in the Regional Office and Agricultural College Landshut. He lectures Extension Methodology at the University of Applied Sciences Weihenstephan-Triesdorf.

Jussi Juhola, EUFRAS Chairman of the Board

Born in 1979, Jussi Juhola holds a bachelor’s degree in Economics as well as a Diploma in IT leadership. He is an expert in international relations and an IT professional and has been involved in the EUFRAS board as a member since 2017 and as chairman since 2019. He has been working for ProAgria, the largest provider of agricultural advisory services in Finland since 2005 with tasks ranging from IT services in agriculture to service quality consultant. Currently he holds two positions as the Director of International Relations and Chief Information Officer at ProAgria. He has also been involved in the SCAR-AKIS working group and since 2021 also on the national coordination body for the Finnish AKIS system AgriHubi.
