At the end of April two advisors from EUFRAS network - Romana Holle from Germany and Jānis Kažotnieks from Latvia, participated at the workshop on organic no-till farming, regenerative agriculture and on-farm research and innovation in Absdorf, Austria, supported by the OK-Net Arable project.

The central speaker of the conference was Jeff Moyer, executive director of the Rodale Institute in Pennsylvania, USA, the developer of Organic No-till Roller-Crimper method. The Roller-Crimper is a plant production system, where a front mounted roller (and crimper) rolls down and at the same time terminates a cover-crop (by crimping the stems). Following, a heavy residue planter is mounted on the back of the tractor, cutting the established mulch and placing the seed below the thick layer into the soil. After seeding, there is no more weed management necessary and the soil is covered, protected and fed by the organic mulch. Alfred Grand, an organic farmer, entrepreneur and the organizer of the conference, invited Jeff Moyer to Austria to speak with larger audience after trying this method in 2016 and having very good results.

Other speakers of the conference were Willemine Brinkman from the European Innovation Partnership for Agriculture (EIP-Agri), Brian Oldreive from Zimbabwe, a farmer and the founder of Foundation For Farming, a Christian organization, which developed the Plan For The Poor method and Alfred Grand, an organic farmer, entrepreneur and the organizer of the conference.
