Lugo Campus of the University of Santiago de Compostela is looking forward to welcoming professionals working on rural development to the 1st International Workshop on Rural Extension - Training of Rural Advisors which will take place from the 19th till 20th of October, 2015 in Campus of Lugo, University of Santiago de Compostela, Spain. 

The meeting will be organized by the network IGSEA (research on sustainable management of agri-food companies). It is targeted at advisors, private rural extension service providers, technicians and managers of cooperatives, personnel from the administration, decision makers and staff from agricultural schools and universities.

OBJETIVES

To raise awareness of the importance of organizing properly rural extension services.
To show and discuss different options existing in Europe, highlighting the key success factors in each system.
To stress the importance of rural advisors training for the efficiency of the service and describe the methodology of ongoing training of advisors.
To suggest good examples to improve the efficiency of the service and the use of public funds allocated for rural extension and training of rural advisors.

The languages of the meeting will be English and Spanish, with simultaneous translation.
