In June 2026, the annual IALB, EUFRAS, and SEASN Conference will bring together agricultural advisors, experts, institutional representatives, and practitioners from across Europe to explore targeted initiatives that promote the inclusion of women and youth in agriculture through tailored learning opportunities and leadership training.
European agriculture is undergoing a profound transformation driven by climate change, environmental pressures, digitalisation, and evolving market conditions. These developments are reshaping the sector and increasing the demand for new skills, innovative learning approaches, and stronger collaboration across all levels of agricultural practice.
In this context, generational renewal and the active inclusion of women are essential for ensuring innovation, resilience, and the long-term sustainability of rural areas. Despite their importance, both young people and women continue to face structural, educational, and institutional barriers that limit their full participation and leadership potential within the sector.
Agricultural advisory services play a key role in addressing these challenges. Today, advisors are not only knowledge providers but also facilitators of innovation, organisers of learning processes, and connectors within Agricultural Knowledge and Innovation Systems (AKIS). Strengthening their capacity is therefore crucial for supporting a more inclusive and future-oriented agricultural sector.
The annual IALB, EUFRAS, and SEASN Conference, taking place on June 16–18, 2026, in Radenci, Slovenia, will bring together agricultural advisors, experts, institutional representatives, and practitioners from across Europe. The conference will explore practical approaches, innovative advisory models, and good practices that promote inclusion, leadership, and effective knowledge exchange.
Focusing on the inclusion of women and youth, as well as modern approaches to knowledge and innovation transfer, the event will serve as a platform for sharing experiences, showcasing best practices, and strengthening cooperation among professionals from different countries.
At a time of rapid change, the development of effective advisory systems is becoming increasingly important for the future of European rural areas. This conference provides a valuable European platform for aligning approaches, exchanging insights, and reinforcing the role of advisory services as drivers of knowledge, innovation, and collaboration.
Participants will gain insights into modern European advisory approaches and practical examples that can be applied in their daily work. The programme includes thematic workshops, professional discussions, and field excursions offering direct exposure to real-life practices. In addition, the conference offers excellent networking opportunities, enabling participants to build connections, exchange ideas, and foster long-term collaboration across borders.
