Managing weeds, Moving Beyond Herbicides

EUFRAS are pleased to invite you for next EUFRAS Coffee Break, organized in collaboration with the GOOD project, on 29 October 2026. This session will focus on agroecological approaches to weed management and explore how agricultural advisors can support farmers across Europe in managing weeds while reducing reliance on herbicides.

Under the topic “Managing Weeds, Moving Beyond Herbicides,” participants will discover the Agroecology for Weeds – GOOD project and its work to advance sustainable, agroecological weed management practices across Europe.

The session will provide insights into practical approaches, tools and resources that can help agricultural advisors support farmers in adopting more sustainable weed management practices.

Participants will have the opportunity to:

• Explore practical examples and experiences from the project’s Living Labs.

• Discover tools and resources for farm-level advice, including the Agroecological Weed Management Toolbox and the project’s Decision Support System.

• Learn about agroecological approaches to weed management and how they compare with conventional practices.

• Discuss opportunities and challenges in adapting weed management practices to local conditions and supporting farmers in their transition towards more sustainable solutions.
